Stop and Think

I've noticed something recently, well I knew it but now I am ever more sure of it because I have hard concrete evidence of it. What is "it"? "It" is that God wants us to think, consider, meditate, etc, use our God given brain. Listen, ever time Paul is writing in the bible we need to remember that what he is writing is inspired by God, go and see just how many times he writes the word consider....
There is a catch though, we have to be a child of God to truly think how God intended us to think. Again scripture is very clear about the renewing of our mind. We need to think HOLY thoughts, and just for clarification "holy" means set apart to/joined to God. Why did I wrote all of this? Think about it:) study it, pray about it, live it, give it to others.

Aunty M

Nearly brought to tears tonight, first by the sweet sweet words of my aunt and her encouragement of and to me, and secondly and most importantly she gave God all glory and honor and praise. To think that I would even get to play a part in her journey of life...that God would so have changed us both...only God in His goodness can take someone and bless them so much spiritually. I pray that all would turn turn to Him, and share in this type of love. Thank you Aunty M, thank you a friends and family, love you.

Live and love

Just think, if we actually loved and lived as we know The Lord has instructed us to through His word... we can and should, yet we still struggle to do so, why? I tend to believe that it's because WE try, instead just letting Him do it through us. Paul woke up and died to self, not my will but yours be done...His loving words of instruction go on and on, but only He has the power to do it through us, grace. Pray not for strength, but for His love to be seen through you more and more, that is real true good strength.

Yes or no, there is no wait

I heard a pastor once say that God handles our prayers 3 different ways; he answers yes, no, or wait. Although that sounds really good, after careful study, I don't find that anywhere in scripture. What I do find is if it is His will, then it is yes and is done. If it is not His will, than you are asking in amiss. So the question then becomes, are we asking in accordance to HIS will, or amiss? Makes you think, but in a good way! We need to know, and should know His will, we may not always like it initially, but His will is always for our ultimate good, and his glory. I hope and pray this helps shed some light on whatever question you may have been pondering about prayer.

All you have

It's not until you view yourself as having nothing, that having Christ alone becomes all the more precious...I pray that makes sense. Whether rich or poor, does His presence satisfy? Not only should it satisfy, it should be more valuable that gold, and silver, because He is, why else would He say "I am"? He really is!

Be still

"Be still and know that I am God". Sounds like an order doesn't? As it should, I could say commandment but its not quite the same. A few quick beautiful points: be still, it would seem that we have a tendency to hustle an bustle about and not remember to just stop. But stop and do what? Why? First is to KNOW, have you ever heard someone say you're too smart for your own good? Again, with all the hustle and bustle I believe we end up having the mentality of "yeah I know I know" type attitude, so God wants us to be still, know, an here's the kicker, that HE is GOD! He tells us not to lose sight of that, of Him. I will go more into detail on that later:) but for now my encouragement for you and me is to prayerfully stop and remember that He is God.

Share

Just had a great thanksgiving with family and friends, to have the God given ability to share with those that didn't have a place to belong, true fellowship, sharing the word, sisters and brothers under one roof, beautiful. That was and is a picture of what Christians should and can do, and not just on thanksgiving. Have a great peaceful rest of the night, blessings.

Thanksgiving

I've thought all morning about what I could say that would be different and just as meaningful as everyone's else's "happy thanksgiving". I thank God for letting me see this day, for the opportunity once again to share his love with everyone that may read this, my family, friends, and anyone else that doesn't fall into either of those categories. Thank you all, for your support, encouragement and love.

Dream a little dream

Intermission at Disney on Ice, and oddly enough I am thoroughly reminded of the dreams God has imparted into my heart. That the dreams God gives you, instill hope, bring happiness because they are from Him, and through Him they will be done... If they are truly from Him and in accordance with His will. Through prayer, study, and application...you can know, live and share in His will, your dreams

Royalty-Alex Faith

"Royalty is my positioning because he paid it, all at the cross he died the one that made us, and so you understand us when we call ourselves kings, he only gave us crowns so we can put them at His feet."

Prayer is vital

I wholeheartedly believe that prayer is vital. I need it more and more, that communication with God where I pour out my heart, and He fills it back up with His love and promises, only prayer can do that. I tried the "things" of this world, and believed in the lies that they promised, but all of them, every single one at some point let me down, only God has proved to be sustaining joy. I felt like someone today might need to read that, needed to hear that, needs...we all need more prayer. We know it, I know we know it. We need to stop trying to grasp at the pleasure that are really just vapors. Gods love, his word...I pray this encourages you, leads you back to Him, go to him...he cares for you.

I don't get it

"For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate." Paul says this in the letter to the Romans, yet his words, inspired by God, echo my thoughts to this day. Why?! I long to not do those stupid things which I know are wrong, why?! Thank God for his grace and mercy. Lord help me to continue to grow and change and rearrange my life in accordance to your will. Amen.

Endurance and Encouragement

Paul says in Romans, "May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ". Although our relationship with God is personal there is also a corporate public aspect that we are joined together with one another so as to allow peace to be given. But during our struggles, whether internal or external, God will give you encouragement, and the strength to endure. Pray for strength, it is already here.

Pursue Peace

"So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding." Paul writes this to the people at Rome, but we can and should take from this is just as relevant. That is this, and my personal application speaks perfectly of when(if ever) my wife and I have a "misunderstanding"...you know what I'm talking about. But this still pertains to the unmarried as well. We are all supposed to tr...
y to keep peace, and by doing so build up, or strengthen the relationship, for both of you. With God and His love an power at the center, forgiveness is close at hand, as is reconciliation. Simply put, the fighting, quarreling, etc. is not the will of The Lord. Make peace, it will help you BOTH. I pray this helps whoever may be struggling with whomever. Pray for His strength to increase in you, through you, for His glory.

Good works

Am I zealous for good works? That is a question we must ask ourselves. Why? Because it shows, when we seek them out purposefully, that our heart is aimed at pleasing The Lord. If you love someone, you should be " zealous" for doing what pleases them, and in this case I am speaking of God...but spouses the same is true of your mate...I hope this blessed and encourages you as it is me.

We are the church

You are the church, at least we are supposed to be. Sounds pretty rough when it's worded like that doesn't it? But if I were to ask, and I must ask myself, and I do, do I keep that in mind as I go about my daily "grind/routine"? I do try, really I do! But is it you or myself I am trying to convince when I say that? Anyone else feel the same way? There is good news! Don't be disheartened! You...
are a work in progress, as long as you are progressing, growing with God. Growing in godliness and holiness...are you better today than you were yesterday? And more importantly is it because God is doing a work in you?! If you are His child than "glory!" You are the church, and you are growing. GOD is good and he keeps his word, he will bring you to where he wills. Rest easy in this biblical truth.

Praise and worship

Praise and worship is not just singing a song. They can be demonstrated that way but it is not the only way. How you live, walk, talk, and think, also qualify as to whether it not you are praising and worshipping Him. So whether alone or in a corporate setting, praise and worship Him...it's a matter of your hearts focus. Lord help us do your will, we praise and worship you.

Faith and grace

As I read and learn more about faith and grace, my experiential knowledge of them becomes more and more apparent. What I mean is this; there is so much I don't know(shocker!), and at times what I do know I feel as though I'm not living up to...does that make sense? Does anyone else feel that way? Well, J.I. Packer says "I need not torment myself with fear that my faith will fail; grace led me to...
faith in the first place, so grace will keep me believing to the end". This was and is comforting, but more importantly biblically backed and I regard it as true, so the comfort stands sure on Gods word. Don't fear, there is no fear in God, hence no fear that He won't keep his word in establishing you...pray about it, study it, live it, give it.

God is not like us, and that's a good thing

God is not like us. He is not just a lot stronger, or a lot wiser, or even really really old, I anything of the sort. He is God almighty, there is NONE like Him. And although we may refer to Him in a masculine way, that too is inaccurate of who/what He is. That is why I able to put all my hope and faith in Him, because He is so much more, far greater than everything I THINK I know. This is why I pray, why and how I can believe in His sons redemption, why I can look at all the evil in the world and know that...HE IS GOOD, HE IS GOD. I hope and pray this helps explain why I do what I do, and why I say what I say. I pray this helps you.

A honest heart

"An honest heart seeks to please God in all things and offend Him in none.", says AW Pink. Whether you and I are working, or relaxing at home, whatever we think, say and do, do you and I consider this as well? I hope and pray you do, that we do.

Word of encouragement

It's amazing how a well timed word of encouragement can be that one thing that leads to change in a persons life. The bible is filled with them...but more importantly God has spoken them, we get the honor and privilege to share them. Thank you to all have been encouraging my family and me,
I hope and pray I am doing the same.

I will pray more, I must

Charles Spurgeon said that "Prayer [encompasses] human weakness with divine strength, turns human folly into heavenly wisdom, and gives to troubled mortals the peace of God." In my sickness I pray, while my father is severely ill, I will pray all the more for Him...are you in need of prayer, or someone you know? Then pray, pray without ceasing, pray when you wake up, throughout the day, and before you go to bed at night. Do this not out of obligation, but out of your loving relationship with God and our family.

Short but sweet

Rough morning, at least I can thank God for so many other blessings...I pray you can say the same, if you started the same way.

Are you doing what you know?

I have heard many say that they try to read the bible but it is very hard to understand. My question is then,"why are you reading the hard parts first?" Yes there are more difficult passages of the bible, but that's why we are to grow in knowledge and wisdom. But are you and I even doing the easy things that God has showed us through His word? For instance, one if the shortest verses in the Bible is "Rejoice always," 1 Thessalonians 5:16. Or the following 17-18 "pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." Is that really hard to understand? is it really difficult to do? Ask God to do it through you and His word will be done. I pray this encourages you to go and learn more about Him, who he is, and then ask for Him to help you accomplish His will. To keep is simple; we need to read, pray, and get to it, you can do it!

Lord help me, please

The bible, the word of God, is very clear that our time here is limited, our bodies fragile, and our relationship with him paramount. But do you and I actually live with that type of honesty in and of ourselves? It is in this that I all the more trust in His word to me, to us, for me, for us. Yes He loves us, that is without question, but do you love Him? Do you believe in Him and His love even during the hard times? Being honest with myself there have been times I have questioned just what exactly was happening, did he see all the pain and hurt? The struggles and troubles? Does He? It has taken many years and there are times that I "relapse" if you will, but my foundation in Him is sure now. Whether good or bad, healthy, happy, and glad, or sick, mad, and sad, I will bless His name...He is my hope in time of need. I pray that my transparency, and biblical honesty helps someone out there that may be struggling, God does love you, He does see your tears, and if you are His child you too have hope, hope of a future with Him...pray, praise, and be patient.

Convicted as a Christian?

I heard a pastor say this an it cut me to the heart, not his words mind you, but what was the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart, and it was this; " is there enough evidence to convict you as a Christian?" Stop and think about that, I know I did, and honestly at times still do. In my words, are they Christ-like? How about my actions? My thoughts? Listen... This is a call once again back to holiness, to godliness, to righteousness. Will you listen and obey the spirits prompting? I pray you do.

How healing can be yours

Sick? "how can healing be yours?" I often wonder how or why sickness occurs, and although I do not have the answers, I do know the answer giver. Too cliche? Even at my body's lowest point my soul can sing to the heavens, and rightly so. If I may be so bold as to ask "where is sickness affecting you?" But is it really? Has it affected your prayer, praise and thanksgiving? If it has Gods stre...
ngth can prevail, if it has not, than glory to God your hope is intact and still alive as it should be. So whether rich or poor, healthy or sick, loved by some, or downcast by all in, remember; the relationship God restored to you through His son by the power of His Holy Spirit gives hope in believing, faith in receiving, and strength for living...I pray this helps whoever needed this...myself included, amen.

Admitting my weakness

Admitting my weaknesses does not make me weak, it only more shows my need for strength. The strength I need I can only find in Him, by Him, through Him. What an honor it is to Him to go to Him and know it is only Him that can help and give you the strength you and I both need. "For when I am weak He is strong

Last half of Romans 15:13

The last half of Romans 15:13 says"...so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." Having already discussed the first half, the second half is just as important and needed to present the full intended message. Bottom line, without Gods spirit, the Holy Spirit, it is impossible to abound in hope. In fact the word abound here means overflow, have exceedingly over what is necessary...stop and think about that...if you are anything like me there are times that you just need hope, and no earthly temporal hope will do. I need Gods hope, the hope that is so lavished upon me that it overflows...that is His type of hope. I pray you take this verse as I have an study it out to its fullness, and continue to grow closer to Him.

You may what they need, what they see

For those of you who read these posts I am sorry I am getting to it late this morning, I actually slept in. With that being said, when I woke up this morning my first instinct was to hurry and post something in case someone was waiting for proof that God was really speaking to them. I know that may sound silly, but I really feel that way. There may be one person out there that is desperately seeking, trying to find assurance that God is real and that He may even care about them...He does! We know this by His Word, so when we share His word with others we are in fact revealing him to a certain degree. I have always loved this quote and I don't know who said it, but it is this; "you may be the only bible some people read". Whether in church, at work, or at home, anywhere you go, you can and should represent God. I pray you and I allow more and more of His love, peace, grace and mercy to be shown, and genuinely grown in our lives and the lives of others.

Are you doing the Lord's will?

I know there is A God, I believe in Him and I believe that He has a will and purpose for my life, BUT with this knowledge do I actually live FOR Him? His will is for me to know Him more and more so that I can give him all the glory and honor in all I do. In fact it is only by His will that I have woken up this many years, but the question then becomes am I pursuing His will? This is in no way m...
eant as a negative, but rather a spiritual check if you will. The bible says to test yourself and show your self approved...we should humbly come before Him and ask..."Lord am I doing your will?" Faith without works is dead...faith and works go hand in hand. But is your hand in His? As a child holds their fathers, so we too should be with Him as He teaches us to walk in His ways. I pray this encourages you to go to Him, draw closer to Him, and then live for Him and all that that implies.

Continuing Romans 15:13

Continuing from Romans 15:13, having spoken on the "why and the who" we now come to the "what?" God, the God of hope will right now "fill you with all joy and peace in believing..." First and foremost being a child of His, the relationship with Him turns you into a vessel that He wants to reveal what has now been imparted into you, and various attributes of Him that He will fill you with. ALL of His joy and ALL of His peace in believing. Think of of that! Through believing He has provided ALL of His JOY! Beyond just being happy, HIS JOY. Not only that, He couples that with His PEACE. You can now know that He is in control and nothing, absolutely nothing can or should shake you because of His peace. All through believing that you are His, and because of His son it is finished.

Christian quote

"Many things are possible for the person who has hope. Even more is possible for the person who has faith. And still more is possible for the person who knows how to love. But everything is possible for the person who practices all three virtues."

Brother Lawerence?

The God of hope

God of hope. He has many attributes, both in the Old testament and new, but here in Romans 15:13 is He called the "God of hope". Think about all that, that implies and signifies. The creator and sustainer of everything "hope". Goodtimes? His hope to sustain them. Bad times? His hope to change them. What a beautiful reality, that whatever our circumstance, He is the God of hope during it. ...
Why during? because this particular verse starts with the word "Now". Yesterday I went into greater detail at the website (please refer to that if oyu want) but the fact that Paul starts with "Now", and then conitues to state that God, God our Father, is THE God of hope...looking for "hope", I know the God of it, and so can you, I pray you get to know Him more, and watch "hope" increase, as you get to know Him more and more.

How can we test what we hear?

How do we "test" scripture? We take whatever we have heard or read, and we go back and personally study it out to its fullness. Next we pray about it, is there peace about how it was presented, or is there an uneasiness? Even then check because even an uneasiness could be a good thing. Maybe God is dealing with you in that area, and your "flesh", your old habits don't want to die, so you're un...
easy about it. We can fellowship with others about it, not just the run of the mill "oh, that was so good, that really spoke to me" kind if talk, but real talk. Dig deep with peers, but also seek wise council. This is not a knock against pastors, preachers, or anyone else, but you and I, should always go to Him for the final verdict, because He is the one whom we glorify, look up to, want and need the relationship with. Remember the bible is not a self help book, although it will help you, it is The Word of God, and it can and should draw you closer to Him, not just what He may provide.

Romans 15:13

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." This verse alone is filled with enough encouragement that I thank God I have been growing closer by the simple truths "hidden" therein, yet brought out lovingly to help me get to know Him more. You too can and should be doing the same, you can. I will post the beginning of my study of this verse later tonight (9'ish) and hope that it helps you draw closer to Him, I can only help point the way, He must quicken your spirit, I pray He will.

Do you know God, or know about Him?

Knowing a lot about God is not the same as knowing God. Shame on me for at times thinking that the two are synonymous. You should and will learn more an more about God as you grow with Him and he shows you more and more, but do not think just because someone has heard more, read more, or can quote more that they really know him. They may know about him, but does their life show just how much he knows them? Whoever you are, whoever you are, keeping searching the scriptures, yes, but above that do it to get to know Him more and He you, not just to increase your knowledge OF him. I pray this helps ease someone's troubles mind and heart tonight, be encouraged, grow with him, go to him. Blessings.

Ask God about yourself

Do you have the courage and humility to ask God to point out anything in your life that offends Him? King David asked The Lord this, inspiring us to do the same I believe. But is this a call for us to just sit and look inward at all of our sin? No, watch this...the bible is a light until our soul, by reading, praying, studying, even through praise, God will illuminate those areas which he longs to help us with. Let him show you, help you, and by his power heal you.

Light shinning in your life

"Light shines anywhere and everywhere it is permitted to enter." When reading the bible I find that previous statement all the more true. When I hear, listen, and study a message or sermon, again it rings true. In the silent times, in my times of prayer, I find His light constantly shining bright, illuminating that which he intends to draw out of me, out of Himself to you and me. I pray whatever he shows you, with regards to what you try to hide, or hide from, that you allow Him to deal with it, with you as a loving father will. Humbly submit to His desire to help lead you and guide you to a higher, better revelation of Him, amen.

God is in control

The God is in control. If that statement is true,(which it is) than what do you have to fear? "Perfect love casts out fear" If you have put all your faith into His sons finished work, then no matter the outcome, you as a child of His, can and should have a peace unshakeable. If you love Him with all your mind, heart and soul. You want peace? More of Him. Love? Him. Joy? Him. All the fruit of the Spirit? More. Of. Him. Pray he reveals more of himself to you today if you are struggling in any area, and see if you are blessed. Those are real blessings...

Can't sleep

Can't sleep, don't really want to. I have so many things running through my mind, but I know what's true. I given all my cares and worries to the one that can hold them, yet still I find myself passing time. I praise His name and thank Him for the strength that He provides, yet still inside a small question whispers "why?" Depart from me evil one with your venomous lies, I will rest easy in the arms of my Father, pray and give thanks for what He's done, and have a good night.

Corny? Maybe, but out of desperation a man speaks from the heart, or rather the heart speaks for the man. Romans 1:16 "I am not ashamed..." This is the Word I cling to, and you can and should too.

This wicked world

Trapped in this deceitfully wicked world, how else can we explain how we all long to be free. As the caged bird sings, so my heart soars to the heavens. Deep into His word I search for a greater revelation and realization of His love for me. His word is stronger than a promise guaranteeing a hope and a future which I long to see. It is this hope in Christ where I place my life when everything seems so wrong He keeps me right. I pray that tonight that you and I both receive what He would have us believe in His ever lasting life, amen, let it be.

What will you do?

Will you pray and sing praise Him when things are bad? Do you still pray and sing praise to Him when things look like they are going good? Which one is more deserving of prayer and praise? Exactly, BOTH are deserving, so no matter what state or condition that you're in right now, pray and sing praise, He is more than worthy of both.

The exchanged life

This was too good not to post; "The Christian life is not a just a "changed life" but an "exchanged life", a "substituted life", and Christ is our living substitute. We tend to think of our life as a series if changes that have happened or that we are in the process if making, but it is so much more. The life we had before Him, was brought before Him, given to Him, and to us He gave us His life. Complete and utter change by way of the exchange...pray about it, praise him for it. Amen.

"Now" Romans 15:13

"Now may the God of hope..."

The first of my focus was on the simple word "Now" and all that it implied, and implies, and will imply.  Stay with me.

Paul as it seems is encouraging those Roman Christians (and us), and he begins by stating, that this is a present state, condition, a word, and instruction for "Now".

Remember ALL scripture is God breathed and God inspired, so it is not Paul telling this of his own accord, but God speaking through him to them(and us).

With that being said, we then can see that if it is a "Now" statement, it would not be relevant to go back past, nor look forward into the future, but rather deal with the issue at hand right "Now".  So what is the issue at hand?

HOPE.

"Now may the God of hope..."

But before we get to the subject of "hope" which I believe we all need, we can not over look the sovereignty of GOD.  He is the one, the only one that "may" give us "hope", hence the statement "the God of hope".

The question then becomes, "Will He give you hope?"  I mean if He "may", will He?  The simple answer is "yes", in fact He, by the power of His spirit, because of what His son did, He gave it to us right "Now".  Hope is yours, right "Now" for the taking, if you will.

If I may be so bold, you and I, everyone is looking for "hope" but not just any "hope" will do, we want and need long lasting, sustainable "hope", and that my friends, family, is the "hope" that only Jesus Christ can and has provided...right "Now".

Of course there is a catch, (if you can call it that)
You must be His, and He must be yours.  I speak of accepting Him as Lord and savior, but also then by His spirit, growing closer to Him, and seeking Him with all your mind body and soul.

My prayer for you and I tonight is that whomever may read this, will test this, truly prayerfully consider the words I have so humbly tried to convey.  That God has quickened your spirit unto His, has enlightened your heart, that there is "an itch you can't scratch", that during this reading you have felt Him move upon your heart.  It is my deepest, most sincere hope that you go back and read this as much as possible, share it if need be, but that above all else it has drawn you closer, and the hope of Christ taken new meaning, or stronger conviction in your life, this I pray, Amen.

I will continue this at a later date, I pray it has blessed you as it has me.

A challenge to you and I

I hope this challenges you this morning to consider what you are hearing, and what you are doing. Jesus said "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock." Previously he mentions several things dealing with the internal and eternal man, and how out of the man (or woman) we would know someone, and how more specifically He would know us. Most people "hear" a sermon, but did you hear Him through that sermon? Or did you just get some candy that made you happy? Too harsh? The next point He makes is "and do them" I've heard too many say the old cliche "God knows my heart" your right! And it's by what you hear and do from your heart that He knows you. We can't afford anymore to be superficial (carnal) Christians (which I don't believe is possible or even biblical) rather we should hear and do. If you are not hearing how can you possibly do (His will)? And if you are hearing, are you doing His will? My final point, it does not say "heard". We should be in the constant present state, positionally, relationally hearing. Yes go on what you know, but continue to hear and do. I know this was long, but after much prayer an study I felt it time for myself to be more bold, for our good and His glory. I pray that you have a great day.

It's never too late

"Lord", do you and I really treat Him as such?! I pray we would. But do we defer to Him when it comes to our daily lives? Should we buy this or that? Should we watch this or that? Or turn it off?! Should we update your status, or give god glory and thanks? Notice I am not condemning any of those, but I believe that is how and when scripture comes so alive when Paul tells us to pray without ceasing. We can and should be going to Him in prayer constantly...and honestly if we are Christians as we all claim to be than it is an ongoing dialogue with God anyways. (honestly those previous questions should only take a moment of your time.) again I am not condemning but calling us all back to godliness, holiness, and righteousness. Let us pray. And as the old saying goes; "It's never too late to start." *but someday it will be if you never do.

Last impressions

A realization I've come to is that if I post a strictly biblical passages there are only a few "likes", if any. While on the other hand, if I post just a "feel good" quote, there are upwards of 10-15 "likes". More interesting still is that if I post a "hardship/sad" quote I can have upwards of 15-20 "likes". After much prayer this is what I believe is true; the bible unless explained to some is very hard to relate to, but leaves the longest lasting impact. The "feel good" quotes are easily relatable, but make little to no lasting impact. Thirdly, the "sad" quotes, hit the hardest and the broadest, but lay somewhere in between I'm their lasting impression. What we fail to see is that in all 3 types of posts God and His word are the foundation and only hope of redemption, relief, and revelation. Get in the word and study, pray, fellowship with other brothers and sisters, and finally praise Him for His goodness and faithfulness in all your situations. Whether biblical truths discovered or revealed, in encouragement, or in your deepest of sorrows, His word stays the same, his word remains true. I encourage you to read 2 Timothy 1:7

Live out loud

I would pray that every post would penetrate to every heart. I know that it is only the Word that can do that, so I share the Word, and then do my best to live it out loud. Why would I post that? To let you and I know that there is power in His Word, and as I have stated before, it takes only one Word from God to change your life...for your good, and His glory! Do not be discouraged, or downhearted if you have sinned(missed the mark) but rather repent, give thanks, praise His name and go forth...be encouraged, this is a call back to righteousness, godliness and holiness. Amen.

Praying amiss?

Have you and I been praying amiss? Have we pondered Gods will before, during and after we pray? Do we pray according to our will, what we want, or Gods will? His will be done, and with it are His blessings. While our will being done only brings struggle to try to maintain. Lord help us pray and live according to your will, it is in your will we are blessed.

What did He tell you to do?

One of the hardest things about being a Christian is reading the bible and knowing at Any moment The Lord may (usually, more often then not) points to an area in my life where I have not let him in, and that I know he is only addressing it because he loves me. Do I trust and believe him? Yes...lord help me humbly submit...I know it's for your glory and my good

Hope

Even when things look bleak, when they seem shattered and broken, God gives us hope, hope in His son, and hope for tomorrow. It is through constant prayer, praise and patience that we cultivate the relationship that brings strength to this hope.

Spend time with Him tonight

What else can I say on a night like tonight? I am not speaking of Halloween and all the assumptions and opinions (some even facts) about tonight, but rather the splendor of the beauty of the night. I know that although tomorrow is not promised to me, that tonight, being with my family, I honored God just by lovingly spending time with them. I do love them, and I do tell them, but above all that...
tonight i showed them by being with them. Is being in the presence of God any different? It shouldn't be. Spend time with Him tonight, give Him thanks for another day, praise Him despite your circumstances if you must, but show Him you truly love Him, don't just give Him "lip service". We have all been on the receiving side of that...don't be that child to Him, to your Father. Go to Him in praise and worship, through prayer, spend time with him and then rest comfortably in His loving arms.

Know Him

I don't want you to get to know good habits or kind words, no, I want you to get to know Him, and if you already do know Him, I want you know Him more! That's where I am at, and it is a beautiful relationship in which I am solely dependent on Him alone, and in Him there is no fear. I thank Him everyday for every blessing I have...especially my wife, love you.

Words from the heart

Continuing from this mornings quote, so much has been made of words, the spoken word, I feel it my obligation to better explain "words" and their power. First I don't not believe it is biblically true that your words create your destiny, you won't find that anywhere in scripture. What you will find is that words come from your heart, and tell if your hearts condition. Some "test" this by making flippant remarks, trying to disprove this notion, but alas one quick word in jest does not disprove that what constantly comes out of ones mouth tells of said condition. So what then, should we not speak? No, we are to speak the truth in love. So before you and I do chose to fill the silence with what we feel is important, prayerfully consider "is this that I am about to say the truth in love, would god be honored and pleased with my speech?" I pray as I allow God to become more in my life that I echo His words more and more, and you the same.

Sticks and stones

Contrary to popular belief sticks and stones will break your bones and words can always hurt you. But words can also inspire, reassure, and bring comfort. Think of those who have spoken both good and bad words into your life, what have they done to you? Now consider your words...

Be an example

I am only trying to be a good example of Gods goodness, grace, peace, love and mercy, a Christian. It is in this likeness that I find my very being, my strength, comfort and support to carry out Gods will. Weak I may be in all things, in Him I am stronger than any and every circumstance. I pray for the northeast, I praise His name, and I give thanks in all circumstances, not for them, but despite them. Let us all join together as one family and offer our prayers of peace during this current storm. Yes I am speaking of "Sandy", but also life's storms that you may be now enduring. Keep your hope in Him. He loves you.

Tell them and show them you love them

Those whom you love, have you told them? Your wife? Your children? God? Then the question is have you shown them? The best feeling is when you tell someone that you love them, and they reply "I know, you always show me, there has never been a doubt". Now go back and look at those people that you tell "I love you" to, what is their reply? I pray if it is not reassuring that you allow God to move upon your heart and theirs. Pray.
