A beautiful day, watch the sunset

"If I can put one touch of rosy sunset into the life of any man or woman, I shall feel that I have worked with God."
Author: G.K. Chesterton.

I read that and was so encouraged, enlightened, and willing and wanting to engage others all for the glory of God. I pray that you and I today, and here forward grow closer to God and draw others to Him as well, because everyone should be able to see "the sunset", and also "The Son-set" at the right hand of God, amen.

Signs of a true friend

"It is one of the severest tests of friendship to tell your friend his faults. So to love a man that you cannot bear to see a stain upon him, and to speak painful truth through loving words, that is friendship." This is one if the greatest... realities of why I so desire to know and love God. He also gave me a beautiful living wife who is my truest friend, and a family, and extended family that are all true friends. Even those of you who read these and will tell me the unbridled truth as I try to do with you, you are my true friends as well. This above all else is Gods love and friendship with and towards us who believe and trust in His son. I pray this encourages you as it has me, to reflect, inspect cherish your real friends, and more importantly your relationship with Him.

Big Picture

Another late update, won't make this a habit. Good news, I got to wake up by the grace of God(big picture). I pray whether your circumstances are good or bad that you too can look at the big picture. God is good. That hasn't changed, it won't change, and it never will.

Can't go back, won't go back

I've been thinking, praying desperately for the right words to say, just the right quotes, something...but why? I have been asking myself that lately, "why am I doing this, posting what I post, saying what I say and doing what I do, why?" The answer is actually very simple, I must. Since I have come to know God, or rather he know me, I can't go back, I wouldn't want to. A life with little or n...o hope, all self effort...on and on. Why do I post these posts? Because he first chose to love me, to extend his grace to me. I pray that although I can not make anyone open their eyes or see what I see, I will constantly strive to try, for you and it his name, his glory. I do hope that anyone and everyone that reads these, that knows me, believes that I truly only want to help, I pray I shed some light, point the way...show you his love. Remember you can see any older post at lovethelordchurch.blogspot.com

What to do? Keep it simple

Romans 12:12 "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." Yes I do believe it can all be so simple. Our hope is in Him, and while we are living and enduring various trials and tribulations, we patiently trust in His word and believe in His blessings, and finally by staying in constant communication and communion with Him we know we are loved, and can and should love others. It all begins an ends with Him. Rejoice today if for the only reason that He is good and has given it to you.

Check yourself

As I have been reading and studying about "election" in the bible, or being "chosen", the "elect", etc. the question that keeps popping up to me is this; "Am I living like I'm Gods chosen/elect?" I'm not speaking of material things, or an...ything of the physical nature because that is fleeting, but rather spiritually am I growing in the fruit of the spirit? Call it a spiritual check if you will, and from what I am learning it is something that we all should do on occasion. Please remember that this is not meant to condemn, but rather is a call to righteousness. I pray this challenges you as it is me...also you can always see all my older posts at lovethelordchurch.blogspot.com I've tried my best to categorize them, and they are all open for comments, concerns, whatever. If there is ever anything I can do personally to help you, clarify something or that we can look at, look up, pray for, anything, just message me, I would love to help and also be encouraged!

Don't worry about what you're going to say

I don't think I've been this late with a post in the morning. I actually slept, didn't get up in the night at all, feels good, feels weird. Anyways...I actually am going to read my bible and pray after I post which is something that I don't do either. BUT in the bible it says not to worry about what you are going to say because God will give you the right words right when you need them for the right people(my paraphrasing of course). So let that be your and my encouragement or today; when you have the opportunity to share the gospel with someone today, don't be afraid, He will give you the right words, just speak to them in love, grace, and peace. God is good, and Jesus is for everybody,

Don't worry

I just wanted to post something light and refreshing tonight, maybe not to theologically deep, but good and true none the less, here goes; "Don't worry about tomorrow, God is already there" that taken from one of my wife's many signs that hang in our house. As much as I give her a hard time for them, they are a constant reminder of Gods goodness and faithfullness.

Ask according to HIS will

"14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him." That is probably one of the most abused passages of scripture I hear and read about today...yes I know it's early, and this isn't starting off like a positive post but ...stay with me. The key word or words in this teaching is "according to HIS will". There have been many a time, and still now when I ask something in confidence, but to be brutally honest I dot really know if it was in line with his will. Might I suggest to you, as it was pointed out to me, "if your prayers aren't getting answered, that maybe you should check to see if it lines up with his word." I also believe if you can't find it for yourself in the word, you might need to start there. Again this may sound very discouraging but stop and think about it, what would happen if you could and would always pray according to his will? It, what ever you prayed for would happen! Get in your word, get to know his will, and grow closer to him.

The beginning and the end

Jesus birth was the beginning of our reconciliation, while His death and resurrection finished it for those that believe. I hope and pray that the real meaning of Christmas is remembered as it should be.

This is for our friend

I don't find it odd that when a great friend of mine, a cousin whom I look at as a brother, begins to go through something horrible, that I desperately ask God for something that I can do to help him. I only hear Silence. "God did you hear me?" Silence. "God, I'm not asking anything for myself, I'm asking how I may comfort and help my friend, how I can show your love and peace to Him while he struggles through this. God?" Silence...wait, "Is that the answer? Is that what your telling me? A subtle peace in my heart. I can and should tell him those things, show Him where I find peace love and comfort, not preach to him, but as his brother as a friend whose heart hurts when his heart hurts. God can and will get you through this, He does love you, we are family and we are here for you. God had already shown me what to do, what I am going to do. To all of those out there like my friend that are hurt it hurting, God does love you, he hears your prayers, he really for care. And to my friends and family that have been praying and asking what we can do to help, get up and get out there and just try, God will move and empower you to say and do the right things for them, with them. Lead them to his arms where they can rest and have peace. I pray that this isn't taken as a sad post, but a challenging and encouraging one that leads all of us to continue to pray an act upon what God shows us in and through His word. Sorry I this was a long read. To my best friend and brother Brian, love you man, I already told you privately, but publicly I'm here for you, I'm praying for you.

Quick thought/question

If I could leave you with one thought tonight might I ask you one simple question; "Do we approach God from a beggar's perspective or as His cherished child?"

Can't sleep?

This is for the people who didn't go to sleep last night, those of you who woke up early, and everyone else that may read this, (more the former than the latter) God does care about you, even your sleep. He cares about how you sleep, where you sleep, when you sleep and who you sleep with. Why I felt led to post that? Hopefully to let someone know that He does hear your prayers, and does care, and He is always there. Don't be discouraged, but encouraged by His word.

What will you believe?

"Why believe the devil instead of believing God? Rise up and realize the truth about yourself - that all the past has gone, and you are one with Christ, and all your sins have been blotted out once and for ever. O let us remember that it is sin to doubt God's Word. It is sin to allow the past, which God has dealt with, to rob us of our joy and our usefulness in the present and in the future." I a...m doing my best to balance; my thoughts and quotes, older theologians and pastors, current pastors and teachers, all based, rooted and grounded in and on the bible. Above all else I desire to point the way to His feet by my words yes, but also my life. Not for one moment do I think myself perfect, but in my failings, struggles and troubles, did I get up? Did I shake the dust from myself and press on? Do I live for Him...I hope and pray that you too strive together with me, with other like believers, all for the glory of God. Stay strong, hold on, God is good and Jesus is for everybody.

Broken Hearted

"God will mend a broken heart if you give Him all the pieces." The question then becomes will you trust and believe in Him, and wholly give yourself to Him. I know I am late posting this today, but I wanted to be sure that after my last post I built upon the common need and theme of our lives.

Jesus is for everybody.

True Story

*The following post is neither a joke nor meant to stir controversy, but it is the truth. Only the names, dates, and places have been changed...not really though.

Two Catholics, a Jew, and a Christian walk into a Mexican restaurant...and have a wonderful lunch filled with heart felt communication, laughter and a sense of overall peace. My team at work, although very different in all aspects, ar...e not so different. We share in the same issues pressing on our families, friends, and all other relationships. We also acknowledged the ever present need for God and only the love, peace and joy that He can provide. Doctrinal differences aside, if only for awhile, we are friends on an increasingly difficult journey in which our common pains are the same, and the answer even more needed, Gods grace.

Jesus is for everybody.

Sustainable Joy?!

I have yet to see any material thing sustain a persons happiness. I have witnessed times of being happy when something is introduced, but sustainable joy? No...but this is not a negative post, on the contrary, I do know how one can grasp that elusive sustainable joy, our lord and savior. He has proven time and time again, in my life and in the lives of countless others I know and have read about,... to provide that which everyone needs, "comfort and joy". By there is a catch I you will, this is a reconciliation of a broken relationship. You may not fully understand what all that encompasses, but pray, speak with someone and search Him out, and lord willing you too will find what we all are desperately looking for, in need of, Him.

My Friends Burden

My friends burden, his pain and his anguish is mine. He cries for his brother, for his brothers happiness, for his brothers soul. we all have a "my friend", a "brother" or "sister" will you pray with me, with him, for the lost souls that we all know, can you? will you? my friend and i will beg, kick, scratch, and scream on our knees, we pray with a passion as if our souls were hanging in the balance, lord open his eyes, heal his heart, hear our prayers, bottle our tears. The hope of reconciliation, for him, for you, for us, all for the glory of God.

A mustard seed?!

"No faith is required to do the possible; actually only a morsel of this atom-powered stuff is needed to do the impossible, for a piece as large as a mustard seed will do more than we have ever dreamed of."-Leonard Ravenhill. Part of my problem and possibly yours is that we've gone so far and grown so comfortable on our own efforts that the thought of needing more, or even asking for more seems u...nnecessary. That does not make it true! We need God more then ever when our physical needs appear to be met, I fear that our spiritual ones have been so neglected that our relationship with God is strained, on our end, that we need that little grain of faith, not to move mountains, but to bring us back to Him, to move our mountain of "stuff" out of the way...this is just on my heart, I hope an pray it helps someone, not sure how, but I will leave that up to God. We just need a little faith.

Overwhelmingly amazed by grace

I am overwhelmingly amazed at the grace of God. That he would do so very much when I deserve nothing. That all I his love, peace, joy, comfort he willingly gives to those that receive Him, through His son...awestruck. I can't thank him enough, I can't try hard enough to show you...oh but I will try, I pray you too will join in his love, be reconciled...let us pray, in faith, with hope...I know this may seem rambled, but I pray my heart, His love comes pouring out through these jumbled broken words. He loves you, come home to him.

A New Relationship

Reconciliation + restoration=new relationship. This is a staple of a strong biblical view between God and man, and also for us with each other. We should be seeking an striving for this daily, I pray we would allow God to accomplish such a work in us.

What will you chose?

Will you chose to rejoice and be glad in the day that The Lord made for you? Will I? Can we rejoice and be glad despite the numerous other opportunities to do the contrary? I pray we will. Pray we do.

Strain for love

"Love is not affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person's ultimate good as far as it can be obtained."-C.S. Lewis. The only thing I might change, or rather add is the word "only" and I would include it right after the word "not". Although not a biblical quote I do believe it is grounded and rooted on the knowledge of God and His will. I would encourage you to read it over a few times, pray about it, find how it aligns and applies to scripture, and above all else, be led by His spirit, be encouraged, and know that you are lives by Him.

His grace is enough

If He didn't love you...his grace wouldn't be sufficient for today

My prayer

This is a little insight to what I think, feel and say daily.
"Help me to know I'm redeemed, help me to grow and believe. Help me to know that I'm clean, help me to show that I'm free. Help me to know that I need to be going closer to you... Father God please forgive me because I know what I do. In your name I pray and give thanks, amen. That's the truth-sincerely, jason

That may have been corny to some, but I hope and pray it may give someone the hope and strength to pour out your heart to God in your own inspired way He's waiting to hear from you, from your heart.

Gods still in control pt.2

"God is still in control, and He loves you." That may be the hardest thing to say, to hear, and even believe when horrendous things happen, but the fact remains that "God is still in control". I have updated lovethelordchurch.blogspot.com I hope that someone may read these posts and be encouraged. That someone will pray and return to God, that despite whatever you may be going through that you... still have a glimmer of hope, that someone, me, will say "God is still in control, and He loves you", that by my simple words, though inspired, will draw you closer to Him. That's why I write morning and night, that is why I pray for anyone and everyone that asks, becuase its not about me, its about Him. Again, feel free to check out lovethelordchurch.blogspot.com for any and all the older posts, from last week and more. And as always, have a great night, hold on, stay strong, God is still in control and He loves you.

God is still speaking to us

"for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."-Paul interestingly enough being inspired by the Holy Spirit always has a word specific for those in need. It is not mere coincidence that His words, Gods through Paul are still true today.

I'm sorry

At times words escape me. For example; when I need to say sorry, I knew I was wrong but some how had convinced myself that it was all their fault, dangerous thing pride is. If you're feeling proud be careful because the fall is soon to follow. It takes a lot of unnecessary work to hold a grudge, so let go of it. Finally peace should be out constant desire, especially if you're married, peace fo...
r your sake, and theirs. If your stubborn, pray and ask God for help, humble yourself. If you have pride, again pray and ask for help, humble yourself, and if you've been holding on to unforgiveness, not letting the peace of God reign, pray and ask God for help. Notice a trend? Guess what I'm about to do? Baby I love you, I'm sorry, please forgive me. Even though I've said it privately, I felt lead to share it public with the hope that others will be lead by God to so the same. Not public ally mind you, but to pray and ask God and then do whatever he says.

More and more prayer is needed

"Pray" it was amazing how many people on every media outlet, myself included, asked or mentioned prayers for families and friends of the victims, and yet I am still grieved that the evil has not stopped in the world and broken hearts still abound. Moreover the question that I ask you and myself is ; why don't we always pray? Pray more? We know the evil is out there, and it has touched our lives i...
n one way or another, and yet we do not ask for prayers constantly. The bible says to pray without ceasing...will everyone that asked or prayed yesterday, still offer up their prayers today? Even if there were not an absolutely awful event as yesterday, we all know that there are plenty of things, people, situations that we can and should be praying for. I will continue to pray, and hope that everyone else does as well. Can you see why God is our hope in our time of need? Let us pray

What do we do now? How can we help?

Do you consider life as normal now after the current tragedy? Do you continue on as if nothing happened, as if it does not have an immediate impact in and on your heart? We can not deny the present evil, yet to do so we must also address the Good now necessary to endure and overcome. We are the church body in this instance, and not a church building where we meet. See the difference? The importance of living the loving life of a Christian and not only associate and claim a denomination. Be the church, we are the church, reach out through prayer, more people need Gods loving touch more than ever...let us pray

Sin looks good in the beginning

sin looks so enticing in the beginning, but that's because the consequences aren't shown until later. Thank God we can ask for forgiveness, be forgiven and develop new habits and pattern for living...not by might not power but by His spirit.

What would you say?

Had an interesting conversation today at lunch. I was asked what denomination I was, followed by "I know you have a bible study and stuff". It was the perfect opportunity that I seized (I hope) to stress that my first reply is not what denomination whose doctrines I support and practice most often, but rather that my relationship with God and my family and friends...I think I caught her by surprise. Do I support organized religions? Cetain ones, of course! But above that when you get to heaven God will not ask what denomination you practiced, but does He KNOW you?! Do you know him? I pray you get to know him, and that He knows you. Be strengthened by his love grace peace and mercy.

"If I had a wish"

"If I had some wishes we'd be perfect, we'd all go to heaven we'd be worthy" k-dub, but since I don't, and I'm not perfect I'm going to do my best to share the gospel, what I know in hopes that we all grow closer to Him, revival.

God is real

Please don't ever try to convince me that God isn't real, it won't work. He has done so much for me, to me, with me that His track record speaks for itself. Point and case, he blessed me with the most wonderful wife, so perfect for me that tomorrow will mark the day she was born from him for me, grace and love in action. I don't deserve her, and nothing I could do can ever repay him. So my life...
's hope and desire is to please him by loving her with all my might. To those of you who aren't married, don't be discouraged even if you have been wronged in the past, whether your fault or not, Gods grace and love is abundant from him, for you an with you. Pray, read, study, praise, He is God, He is good, and He is real, this I know.

What is prayer?

Prayer, aggressive, peaceful, empowering, humbling...pray

Don't forget His word

I'm not afraid that people don't know what I'm going through, we all go through something. What does scare me(if I can use those words) is that others will see my fear, struggles, moments if weakness and not see the hours in prayer, the encouraging words of friends and family, above all else, Gods promise by his word that I desperately cling to, then the triumphant victory that I eventually walk in because of his son. I implore you all do not forgot that God will never leave nor forsake you...if you are his child...you can trust on him, have faith in him, and because of him walk worthy.

PRAY

I shouldn't have to remind myself to pray, I should be looking forward to the time and chance I will get to .

Stop and Think

This next quote may seem like an attack but I pray you take it as a challenge, and it is this; "Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard, solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think." The bible is adamant about asking us as Christians, as children of God to think, to test everything we hear, everything. I have been and hopefully won't be again blissfully ignorant willfully unfortunate of taking words from teachers, pastors, preachers and the like without ever testing what they said. This is not a "knock" on them, for I would like to believe that they were always doing their best, as I am now, but only Gods word is perfect in its presentation and application. I implore you and I to take everything we read, hear, even do and test/prove it with the word of God. Be encouraged! This is a call to godliness and holiness, let us answer as real men and women of God, proving our faith. P.s. thank you all who continue to encourage me through your love and support ( love you Danielle, family and friends)

How do we show Him?

How do you show someone that you genuinely love them? Talk to them? Spend time with them? Think about them constantly? Should our live for God be any different? I submit to you that it should not be, in fact it should be even more so...I remember writing poems for my first worldly "loves", making mix tapes, staying up late talking on the phone waiting for them to hang up first...if I did this for person, how much more should I do this for my God

Information, Revelation, Application

Many of us have a vast amount of information about God and what he did. Then there are those of us that have a healthy dose of revelation of what He can do. Lastly there is a select few that know the information, believe the revelation, and have started the application...if don't know what to do first, gather information about Him, with hopes that he will show you more. If you've been gathering i...
nformation, pray and await for revelation. Finally if he has revealed himself and ways to you, it is only right and true that you start walking in a manner worthy, the application. All three of these are a sure sign of your most righteous calling. Notice they all involve a constant movement forward to him, by him, with him. I pray that you strive to know him more. Keep growing, be encouraged, keep your mind and heart set on Him.

I need His peace!

The beauty if the following verse is evident, yet I lose sight of it in times of distress, why?! "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." So I read it again and again, planting it deeper and deeper in the fertile ground if my heart knowing that through prayer, study and meditation(pondering it over and over in my mind). God will bring it back to my recollection the next trials and tribulations arise. This is true for every believer, for every true child of God. Lay the foundation of His word and stand strong against life's storms, be encouraged.

Don't go away, draw closer

Why do I at times say "Father forgive me for I know not what I do"?! I know what I've done! He knows it too, I'm not tricking Him, or making myself more humble by quoting some scripture out of context...why do I say it then? Moreover, why do I make a dumb choice, have a bad thought, or just blatantly sin, and in passing offer up a flippant scripture quote? It's like I'm so frustrated and disappointed in myself that I don't know what to say, so I say that in hopes that He hears His word...guess why? he knows what he said, and this may seem like a negative post but stay with me. Sin done or in a Christians life will make you feel like God doesn't love you, or that he won't hear your prayers, we've all thought that, but if you are his child and he knows you, then truly repent from your heart, ask for help, guidance, strength to get to the root of the sin, does He want to help you? Can he help you? Will you let him help you? Yes. Don't let yourself be drawn away and think, worse yet believe that you can't come to him. That fact is even on your best day you and I aren't perfect, that's why we need him all the more to never leave us, which he won't if you're his child, he won't forsake you, never ever...but will walk away from him? I pray you don't! We all have struggles and troubles, trials and tribulations, He is still God, and He is still will and able to help you through them to get back to Him. Sorry this was so long, I hope it encourages someone, anyone to come to your fathers loving arms of forgiveness.

I need encouragement

"Sometimes the one who does most of the encouraging, needs to be encouraged! Just following my heart that leads to God." A dear friend sent me that today. I pray that you have a friend that encourages like this, if not let me encourage you through His words.

Do you realize?

Do you and I even realized how extremely blessed we are? I encourage you and I to remember Gods goodness and give Him glory, honor and praise for breathe to see this day. Rejoice and be glad in it.

Kind words

First to Mrs. Tripp, thank you for your kind and loving words dripped like sweet honey on my heart from the mouth of God. To those of you who also comforted my family and me through direct encouragement and through quiet prayers spoken in secret, "thank you". Being transparent, authentic, "real" is extremely humbling, yet highly encouraging because you soon realize that no man is and island. We are made for fellowship with one another. I pray that I comfort and encourage you as you have me through faith by the word of God, amen.

Not done yet

I pray that you are encouraged, strengthened by Gods word, by what His son has done for you and me. You are forgiven, yes he still loves you, and no he's not done with you yet.

Tell the truth

Tell the truth. Sin and lying is so appealing in the beginning, but in the end it leaves you and I in a sad condition. Pray for what to say,or don't say nothin

Comfort and Joy

I'm glad we don't have to try to find comfort and joy from external things, because there are enough external problems to steal that comfort and joy.

Let the doctor operate

When we read the bible, study it out, and pray that he takes his word and changes us, Paul's words in Thessalonians echoes what we should know and be encouraged by. "And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers." First We need to accept the bible as the word of God, secondly that it(the word) should be at work in us. So the question I asked myself and ask you now, is what word, what has god shown you an told you that He needs you to work on, that should be at work in you? In me? I pray you allow him to operate:)

Don't runaway

There are times when you want to runaway, God says run to Him. You may not be able to change the place or position your at, but in and through God, by running to him...I pray we run to him when we feel like running away.

Stupid Cancer

Stupid cancer. That's all I can say. I don't like it, I don't like what it does, I find nothing good of it...but my God is bigger, stronger, willing and able to heal and draw a family closer to each other and to Him. We can find all the fruit of the spirit in Him, and it is in him we find peace, love, and joy that surpasses understanding. I pray that whatever you may be going through, or a family member, or friend, that you draw closer to God, draw them closer to God if at all possible, draw all men unto Him...to His loving arms, he will comfort the tired the weary the broken hearted...have faith in Him, for he is our hope, amen.

You should know

"For we know, brothers(and sisters) loved by God, that he has chosen you,"

do you and I understand the beauty of that? We should "know", we are loved by God( even when we don't or didn't think we were lovely or worth loving, he loved us. Lastly he proves it if you will by "choosing you" You were chosen, you are loved, and you should know it.

Wednesday night "What are you looking for?"

Romans 6:22
"But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end eternal life."

Galatians 5:22-23 "the fruit of the Spirit are..."

1.  "But now" is drawing the line in time, between what you were, what you are, and even what you will become, but Paul is stating that RIGHT NOW!

2.  You and I have been set free from sin, the bondage, the work of sin and its power over us, what it desperately tries to lord over us.

3.  BUT NOW!!! we have become slaves/ bond servants, sold yourself and put under a NEW LORD, the KING of KINGS, rather HE purchased you from the ugly former rulers, SIN.

4. with this new bond to GOD, the fruit YOU get are: Galatians 5:22-23
1. love
2. joy
3.peace
4.patience
5. kindness
6. goodness
7. faithfulness
8. gentleness
9. long suffering

and this fruit leads to SANCTIFICATION

SANCTIFICATION IS BEING SET APART UNTO GOD!!!

When you take all of this and study it out, pray about it, meditate on it(mull it over in your mind and heart over and over)  you then are led to a glorious revelation, it ends in our eternal life, glory!!!

Grow in your relationship with God and the fruit he gives you, lead to sanctification and ultimately to your eternal life with him, amen.

His fruit

Have you heard about what God wants to give you, what he has already given you if you are his child? If not, may I share a few things he has promised by his word that will be a result of being his child? Love, joy, peace, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, kindness, patience, self control and long suffering. Remembering also that these are perfect, in perfection, not temporary, everlasting, ho...
w could someone NOT want or need these? All of those afore mentioned "things", are actually the "fruit of his spirit" found in Galatians 5:22-23. If you're like me the only one that caused a slight concern, is the mention of "long suffering" but even then, if the others are in full effect, having to deal with the trials and tribulations of the world...we would still have a hope and peace unshakable because we knew he loved us and was with us, "and that's a fact jack"...sorry I've been watching a little duck dynasty. I pray you read Galatians, not just for what you have received, but to get to know Him more.

Knowing God

"There's a difference between knowing God and knowing about God. When you truly know God, you have energy to serve him, boldness to share him, and contentment in him." this from his book Knowing God, J.I. Packer. Remember that knowing him and following him, was brought about by him, so he always gives you the strength and desire to live for him, and love others. I pray that you are encouraged to know him more...keep growing and going with him.

Let them see your good works

"Let them see your good works and glorify The Lord." Remembering that there is onlyt one who is "good" it must be Him doing good works through you. Not only that, doing good works towards others, so that they would be drawn to Him. Let him work through you, pray that he would, that you would allow him, and then go and bless others. Can it all be so easy? When you die to self and live and love him, living and loving others becomes easy...today let us together do good works by allowing him to do them through us, draw closer to him, and others will see him and do the same...

Desperate for HIM

I don't hide the fact that it was out if desperation that I chose to follow God. I knew I was never good enough, could never reach high enough, and now matter what I "got" it was never ever enough. This is not a defeatist attitude, only a beautiful reality that led me to the foot of the cross where all those "things" I could never achieve by my own strength and will power, were fulfilled, and fr...
eely given to me, if only I believed, received and kept growing closer to him. And here's the kicker, as I keep growing closer to him, the less and less the "things" actually matter, because now I find so much more in him, And through him I can share with others. Talk about a complete change of events...I pray you see my heart, but moreover God heart pouring out towards you...towards everyone that would believe.

Word unto HIM

I pray that you would all have a great day and remember(as I must also) to work as unto The Lord. If you're doing it for a pay check, the prestige, whatever, honestly you're going to miss the value of the grace that God has given you for this day. Today is the day The Lord has made, but will you rejoice and be glad in it? I pray you will.

Train a child...

"Train a child in the way they should go..." who will step up and train these children, more over, how do help those children that are now adults and have never been trained? We all need "training", hence we should grow in our relationship with God as He "trains" us, leads us, guides us. Keep growing, yes, but then who are you helping, we all can help in some way.

Helper in your time of need

Simply put; God is your helper in your time of need, but if you don't know him, how can you go to him? Get to know him so you can go to him.

You are forgiven

You and I are forgiven, so is anyone who asks, and believers. What a comforting truth. We can't be afraid to ask, and we must learn to believe.

Fruit, the extra blessing

Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank those that came over, good times. And to my new friend, it was so nice to meet you, we are praying for you, and I hope that the message was comforting, encouraging, and helpful. To everyone else, "what are you looking for?" I submit that you are looking for the fruit of the Spirit. Please check Galatians 5:22, you can know the one that can bless you with them. In fact knowing Him is better than the fruit, the fruit is just an extra blessing because he loves you. Remember that you can always read the older posts at lovethelordchurch.blogspot.com or you can message me anytime if there is ever anything I can do to help you with what ever.

Good works and the good man/woman

"Good works do not make a good man, but a good man does good works." And since there is only one who is "good" it is vital that we allow Him to live in and work through us, good works. I've strived in my own strength to be "good" only to burn out and give up, yet when I give myself, my mind, I'll and emotions to Him, good works flow effortlessly. I pray this encourages you to seek him more and in turn you allow Him to do "good works" through you too. He is willing and able, will you let Him?

Love in word and deed

Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth...as Paul so tenderly puts, seems to have been an issue even back then. So then what are we to do? Just as is written, .

Unforgiveness, the poison

I heard this years ago and really liked it, in fact I believe is accurate; "unforgiveness is like wanting someone to get sick or even die, yet you're the one that drinks the poison". I don't technically find that verbiage in the bible, but there is enough warning about unforgiveness to remind us all TO forgive. Is it easy? Rarely! But it is possible and vital to our walk of life. Pray for help, the helper helps best:)

Stop and Think

I've noticed something recently, well I knew it but now I am ever more sure of it because I have hard concrete evidence of it. What is "it"? "It" is that God wants us to think, consider, meditate, etc, use our God given brain. Listen, ever time Paul is writing in the bible we need to remember that what he is writing is inspired by God, go and see just how many times he writes the word consider....
There is a catch though, we have to be a child of God to truly think how God intended us to think. Again scripture is very clear about the renewing of our mind. We need to think HOLY thoughts, and just for clarification "holy" means set apart to/joined to God. Why did I wrote all of this? Think about it:) study it, pray about it, live it, give it to others.

Aunty M

Nearly brought to tears tonight, first by the sweet sweet words of my aunt and her encouragement of and to me, and secondly and most importantly she gave God all glory and honor and praise. To think that I would even get to play a part in her journey of life...that God would so have changed us both...only God in His goodness can take someone and bless them so much spiritually. I pray that all would turn turn to Him, and share in this type of love. Thank you Aunty M, thank you a friends and family, love you.

Live and love

Just think, if we actually loved and lived as we know The Lord has instructed us to through His word... we can and should, yet we still struggle to do so, why? I tend to believe that it's because WE try, instead just letting Him do it through us. Paul woke up and died to self, not my will but yours be done...His loving words of instruction go on and on, but only He has the power to do it through us, grace. Pray not for strength, but for His love to be seen through you more and more, that is real true good strength.

Yes or no, there is no wait

I heard a pastor once say that God handles our prayers 3 different ways; he answers yes, no, or wait. Although that sounds really good, after careful study, I don't find that anywhere in scripture. What I do find is if it is His will, then it is yes and is done. If it is not His will, than you are asking in amiss. So the question then becomes, are we asking in accordance to HIS will, or amiss? Makes you think, but in a good way! We need to know, and should know His will, we may not always like it initially, but His will is always for our ultimate good, and his glory. I hope and pray this helps shed some light on whatever question you may have been pondering about prayer.

All you have

It's not until you view yourself as having nothing, that having Christ alone becomes all the more precious...I pray that makes sense. Whether rich or poor, does His presence satisfy? Not only should it satisfy, it should be more valuable that gold, and silver, because He is, why else would He say "I am"? He really is!

Be still

"Be still and know that I am God". Sounds like an order doesn't? As it should, I could say commandment but its not quite the same. A few quick beautiful points: be still, it would seem that we have a tendency to hustle an bustle about and not remember to just stop. But stop and do what? Why? First is to KNOW, have you ever heard someone say you're too smart for your own good? Again, with all the hustle and bustle I believe we end up having the mentality of "yeah I know I know" type attitude, so God wants us to be still, know, an here's the kicker, that HE is GOD! He tells us not to lose sight of that, of Him. I will go more into detail on that later:) but for now my encouragement for you and me is to prayerfully stop and remember that He is God.

Share

Just had a great thanksgiving with family and friends, to have the God given ability to share with those that didn't have a place to belong, true fellowship, sharing the word, sisters and brothers under one roof, beautiful. That was and is a picture of what Christians should and can do, and not just on thanksgiving. Have a great peaceful rest of the night, blessings.

Thanksgiving

I've thought all morning about what I could say that would be different and just as meaningful as everyone's else's "happy thanksgiving". I thank God for letting me see this day, for the opportunity once again to share his love with everyone that may read this, my family, friends, and anyone else that doesn't fall into either of those categories. Thank you all, for your support, encouragement and love.

Dream a little dream

Intermission at Disney on Ice, and oddly enough I am thoroughly reminded of the dreams God has imparted into my heart. That the dreams God gives you, instill hope, bring happiness because they are from Him, and through Him they will be done... If they are truly from Him and in accordance with His will. Through prayer, study, and application...you can know, live and share in His will, your dreams

Royalty-Alex Faith

"Royalty is my positioning because he paid it, all at the cross he died the one that made us, and so you understand us when we call ourselves kings, he only gave us crowns so we can put them at His feet."

Prayer is vital

I wholeheartedly believe that prayer is vital. I need it more and more, that communication with God where I pour out my heart, and He fills it back up with His love and promises, only prayer can do that. I tried the "things" of this world, and believed in the lies that they promised, but all of them, every single one at some point let me down, only God has proved to be sustaining joy. I felt like someone today might need to read that, needed to hear that, needs...we all need more prayer. We know it, I know we know it. We need to stop trying to grasp at the pleasure that are really just vapors. Gods love, his word...I pray this encourages you, leads you back to Him, go to him...he cares for you.

I don't get it

"For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate." Paul says this in the letter to the Romans, yet his words, inspired by God, echo my thoughts to this day. Why?! I long to not do those stupid things which I know are wrong, why?! Thank God for his grace and mercy. Lord help me to continue to grow and change and rearrange my life in accordance to your will. Amen.

Endurance and Encouragement

Paul says in Romans, "May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ". Although our relationship with God is personal there is also a corporate public aspect that we are joined together with one another so as to allow peace to be given. But during our struggles, whether internal or external, God will give you encouragement, and the strength to endure. Pray for strength, it is already here.

Pursue Peace

"So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding." Paul writes this to the people at Rome, but we can and should take from this is just as relevant. That is this, and my personal application speaks perfectly of when(if ever) my wife and I have a "misunderstanding"...you know what I'm talking about. But this still pertains to the unmarried as well. We are all supposed to tr...
y to keep peace, and by doing so build up, or strengthen the relationship, for both of you. With God and His love an power at the center, forgiveness is close at hand, as is reconciliation. Simply put, the fighting, quarreling, etc. is not the will of The Lord. Make peace, it will help you BOTH. I pray this helps whoever may be struggling with whomever. Pray for His strength to increase in you, through you, for His glory.

Good works

Am I zealous for good works? That is a question we must ask ourselves. Why? Because it shows, when we seek them out purposefully, that our heart is aimed at pleasing The Lord. If you love someone, you should be " zealous" for doing what pleases them, and in this case I am speaking of God...but spouses the same is true of your mate...I hope this blessed and encourages you as it is me.

We are the church

You are the church, at least we are supposed to be. Sounds pretty rough when it's worded like that doesn't it? But if I were to ask, and I must ask myself, and I do, do I keep that in mind as I go about my daily "grind/routine"? I do try, really I do! But is it you or myself I am trying to convince when I say that? Anyone else feel the same way? There is good news! Don't be disheartened! You...
are a work in progress, as long as you are progressing, growing with God. Growing in godliness and holiness...are you better today than you were yesterday? And more importantly is it because God is doing a work in you?! If you are His child than "glory!" You are the church, and you are growing. GOD is good and he keeps his word, he will bring you to where he wills. Rest easy in this biblical truth.

Praise and worship

Praise and worship is not just singing a song. They can be demonstrated that way but it is not the only way. How you live, walk, talk, and think, also qualify as to whether it not you are praising and worshipping Him. So whether alone or in a corporate setting, praise and worship Him...it's a matter of your hearts focus. Lord help us do your will, we praise and worship you.

Faith and grace

As I read and learn more about faith and grace, my experiential knowledge of them becomes more and more apparent. What I mean is this; there is so much I don't know(shocker!), and at times what I do know I feel as though I'm not living up to...does that make sense? Does anyone else feel that way? Well, J.I. Packer says "I need not torment myself with fear that my faith will fail; grace led me to...
faith in the first place, so grace will keep me believing to the end". This was and is comforting, but more importantly biblically backed and I regard it as true, so the comfort stands sure on Gods word. Don't fear, there is no fear in God, hence no fear that He won't keep his word in establishing you...pray about it, study it, live it, give it.

God is not like us, and that's a good thing

God is not like us. He is not just a lot stronger, or a lot wiser, or even really really old, I anything of the sort. He is God almighty, there is NONE like Him. And although we may refer to Him in a masculine way, that too is inaccurate of who/what He is. That is why I able to put all my hope and faith in Him, because He is so much more, far greater than everything I THINK I know. This is why I pray, why and how I can believe in His sons redemption, why I can look at all the evil in the world and know that...HE IS GOOD, HE IS GOD. I hope and pray this helps explain why I do what I do, and why I say what I say. I pray this helps you.

A honest heart

"An honest heart seeks to please God in all things and offend Him in none.", says AW Pink. Whether you and I are working, or relaxing at home, whatever we think, say and do, do you and I consider this as well? I hope and pray you do, that we do.

Word of encouragement

It's amazing how a well timed word of encouragement can be that one thing that leads to change in a persons life. The bible is filled with them...but more importantly God has spoken them, we get the honor and privilege to share them. Thank you to all have been encouraging my family and me,
I hope and pray I am doing the same.

I will pray more, I must

Charles Spurgeon said that "Prayer [encompasses] human weakness with divine strength, turns human folly into heavenly wisdom, and gives to troubled mortals the peace of God." In my sickness I pray, while my father is severely ill, I will pray all the more for Him...are you in need of prayer, or someone you know? Then pray, pray without ceasing, pray when you wake up, throughout the day, and before you go to bed at night. Do this not out of obligation, but out of your loving relationship with God and our family.

Short but sweet

Rough morning, at least I can thank God for so many other blessings...I pray you can say the same, if you started the same way.

Are you doing what you know?

I have heard many say that they try to read the bible but it is very hard to understand. My question is then,"why are you reading the hard parts first?" Yes there are more difficult passages of the bible, but that's why we are to grow in knowledge and wisdom. But are you and I even doing the easy things that God has showed us through His word? For instance, one if the shortest verses in the Bible is "Rejoice always," 1 Thessalonians 5:16. Or the following 17-18 "pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." Is that really hard to understand? is it really difficult to do? Ask God to do it through you and His word will be done. I pray this encourages you to go and learn more about Him, who he is, and then ask for Him to help you accomplish His will. To keep is simple; we need to read, pray, and get to it, you can do it!

Lord help me, please

The bible, the word of God, is very clear that our time here is limited, our bodies fragile, and our relationship with him paramount. But do you and I actually live with that type of honesty in and of ourselves? It is in this that I all the more trust in His word to me, to us, for me, for us. Yes He loves us, that is without question, but do you love Him? Do you believe in Him and His love even during the hard times? Being honest with myself there have been times I have questioned just what exactly was happening, did he see all the pain and hurt? The struggles and troubles? Does He? It has taken many years and there are times that I "relapse" if you will, but my foundation in Him is sure now. Whether good or bad, healthy, happy, and glad, or sick, mad, and sad, I will bless His name...He is my hope in time of need. I pray that my transparency, and biblical honesty helps someone out there that may be struggling, God does love you, He does see your tears, and if you are His child you too have hope, hope of a future with Him...pray, praise, and be patient.

Convicted as a Christian?

I heard a pastor say this an it cut me to the heart, not his words mind you, but what was the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart, and it was this; " is there enough evidence to convict you as a Christian?" Stop and think about that, I know I did, and honestly at times still do. In my words, are they Christ-like? How about my actions? My thoughts? Listen... This is a call once again back to holiness, to godliness, to righteousness. Will you listen and obey the spirits prompting? I pray you do.

How healing can be yours

Sick? "how can healing be yours?" I often wonder how or why sickness occurs, and although I do not have the answers, I do know the answer giver. Too cliche? Even at my body's lowest point my soul can sing to the heavens, and rightly so. If I may be so bold as to ask "where is sickness affecting you?" But is it really? Has it affected your prayer, praise and thanksgiving? If it has Gods stre...
ngth can prevail, if it has not, than glory to God your hope is intact and still alive as it should be. So whether rich or poor, healthy or sick, loved by some, or downcast by all in, remember; the relationship God restored to you through His son by the power of His Holy Spirit gives hope in believing, faith in receiving, and strength for living...I pray this helps whoever needed this...myself included, amen.

Admitting my weakness

Admitting my weaknesses does not make me weak, it only more shows my need for strength. The strength I need I can only find in Him, by Him, through Him. What an honor it is to Him to go to Him and know it is only Him that can help and give you the strength you and I both need. "For when I am weak He is strong

Last half of Romans 15:13

The last half of Romans 15:13 says"...so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." Having already discussed the first half, the second half is just as important and needed to present the full intended message. Bottom line, without Gods spirit, the Holy Spirit, it is impossible to abound in hope. In fact the word abound here means overflow, have exceedingly over what is necessary...stop and think about that...if you are anything like me there are times that you just need hope, and no earthly temporal hope will do. I need Gods hope, the hope that is so lavished upon me that it overflows...that is His type of hope. I pray you take this verse as I have an study it out to its fullness, and continue to grow closer to Him.

You may what they need, what they see

For those of you who read these posts I am sorry I am getting to it late this morning, I actually slept in. With that being said, when I woke up this morning my first instinct was to hurry and post something in case someone was waiting for proof that God was really speaking to them. I know that may sound silly, but I really feel that way. There may be one person out there that is desperately seeking, trying to find assurance that God is real and that He may even care about them...He does! We know this by His Word, so when we share His word with others we are in fact revealing him to a certain degree. I have always loved this quote and I don't know who said it, but it is this; "you may be the only bible some people read". Whether in church, at work, or at home, anywhere you go, you can and should represent God. I pray you and I allow more and more of His love, peace, grace and mercy to be shown, and genuinely grown in our lives and the lives of others.

Are you doing the Lord's will?

I know there is A God, I believe in Him and I believe that He has a will and purpose for my life, BUT with this knowledge do I actually live FOR Him? His will is for me to know Him more and more so that I can give him all the glory and honor in all I do. In fact it is only by His will that I have woken up this many years, but the question then becomes am I pursuing His will? This is in no way m...
eant as a negative, but rather a spiritual check if you will. The bible says to test yourself and show your self approved...we should humbly come before Him and ask..."Lord am I doing your will?" Faith without works is dead...faith and works go hand in hand. But is your hand in His? As a child holds their fathers, so we too should be with Him as He teaches us to walk in His ways. I pray this encourages you to go to Him, draw closer to Him, and then live for Him and all that that implies.

Continuing Romans 15:13

Continuing from Romans 15:13, having spoken on the "why and the who" we now come to the "what?" God, the God of hope will right now "fill you with all joy and peace in believing..." First and foremost being a child of His, the relationship with Him turns you into a vessel that He wants to reveal what has now been imparted into you, and various attributes of Him that He will fill you with. ALL of His joy and ALL of His peace in believing. Think of of that! Through believing He has provided ALL of His JOY! Beyond just being happy, HIS JOY. Not only that, He couples that with His PEACE. You can now know that He is in control and nothing, absolutely nothing can or should shake you because of His peace. All through believing that you are His, and because of His son it is finished.

Christian quote

"Many things are possible for the person who has hope. Even more is possible for the person who has faith. And still more is possible for the person who knows how to love. But everything is possible for the person who practices all three virtues."

Brother Lawerence?

The God of hope

God of hope. He has many attributes, both in the Old testament and new, but here in Romans 15:13 is He called the "God of hope". Think about all that, that implies and signifies. The creator and sustainer of everything "hope". Goodtimes? His hope to sustain them. Bad times? His hope to change them. What a beautiful reality, that whatever our circumstance, He is the God of hope during it. ...
Why during? because this particular verse starts with the word "Now". Yesterday I went into greater detail at the website (please refer to that if oyu want) but the fact that Paul starts with "Now", and then conitues to state that God, God our Father, is THE God of hope...looking for "hope", I know the God of it, and so can you, I pray you get to know Him more, and watch "hope" increase, as you get to know Him more and more.

How can we test what we hear?

How do we "test" scripture? We take whatever we have heard or read, and we go back and personally study it out to its fullness. Next we pray about it, is there peace about how it was presented, or is there an uneasiness? Even then check because even an uneasiness could be a good thing. Maybe God is dealing with you in that area, and your "flesh", your old habits don't want to die, so you're un...
easy about it. We can fellowship with others about it, not just the run of the mill "oh, that was so good, that really spoke to me" kind if talk, but real talk. Dig deep with peers, but also seek wise council. This is not a knock against pastors, preachers, or anyone else, but you and I, should always go to Him for the final verdict, because He is the one whom we glorify, look up to, want and need the relationship with. Remember the bible is not a self help book, although it will help you, it is The Word of God, and it can and should draw you closer to Him, not just what He may provide.

Romans 15:13

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." This verse alone is filled with enough encouragement that I thank God I have been growing closer by the simple truths "hidden" therein, yet brought out lovingly to help me get to know Him more. You too can and should be doing the same, you can. I will post the beginning of my study of this verse later tonight (9'ish) and hope that it helps you draw closer to Him, I can only help point the way, He must quicken your spirit, I pray He will.

Do you know God, or know about Him?

Knowing a lot about God is not the same as knowing God. Shame on me for at times thinking that the two are synonymous. You should and will learn more an more about God as you grow with Him and he shows you more and more, but do not think just because someone has heard more, read more, or can quote more that they really know him. They may know about him, but does their life show just how much he knows them? Whoever you are, whoever you are, keeping searching the scriptures, yes, but above that do it to get to know Him more and He you, not just to increase your knowledge OF him. I pray this helps ease someone's troubles mind and heart tonight, be encouraged, grow with him, go to him. Blessings.

Ask God about yourself

Do you have the courage and humility to ask God to point out anything in your life that offends Him? King David asked The Lord this, inspiring us to do the same I believe. But is this a call for us to just sit and look inward at all of our sin? No, watch this...the bible is a light until our soul, by reading, praying, studying, even through praise, God will illuminate those areas which he longs to help us with. Let him show you, help you, and by his power heal you.

Light shinning in your life

"Light shines anywhere and everywhere it is permitted to enter." When reading the bible I find that previous statement all the more true. When I hear, listen, and study a message or sermon, again it rings true. In the silent times, in my times of prayer, I find His light constantly shining bright, illuminating that which he intends to draw out of me, out of Himself to you and me. I pray whatever he shows you, with regards to what you try to hide, or hide from, that you allow Him to deal with it, with you as a loving father will. Humbly submit to His desire to help lead you and guide you to a higher, better revelation of Him, amen.

God is in control

The God is in control. If that statement is true,(which it is) than what do you have to fear? "Perfect love casts out fear" If you have put all your faith into His sons finished work, then no matter the outcome, you as a child of His, can and should have a peace unshakeable. If you love Him with all your mind, heart and soul. You want peace? More of Him. Love? Him. Joy? Him. All the fruit of the Spirit? More. Of. Him. Pray he reveals more of himself to you today if you are struggling in any area, and see if you are blessed. Those are real blessings...

Can't sleep

Can't sleep, don't really want to. I have so many things running through my mind, but I know what's true. I given all my cares and worries to the one that can hold them, yet still I find myself passing time. I praise His name and thank Him for the strength that He provides, yet still inside a small question whispers "why?" Depart from me evil one with your venomous lies, I will rest easy in the arms of my Father, pray and give thanks for what He's done, and have a good night.

Corny? Maybe, but out of desperation a man speaks from the heart, or rather the heart speaks for the man. Romans 1:16 "I am not ashamed..." This is the Word I cling to, and you can and should too.

This wicked world

Trapped in this deceitfully wicked world, how else can we explain how we all long to be free. As the caged bird sings, so my heart soars to the heavens. Deep into His word I search for a greater revelation and realization of His love for me. His word is stronger than a promise guaranteeing a hope and a future which I long to see. It is this hope in Christ where I place my life when everything seems so wrong He keeps me right. I pray that tonight that you and I both receive what He would have us believe in His ever lasting life, amen, let it be.

What will you do?

Will you pray and sing praise Him when things are bad? Do you still pray and sing praise to Him when things look like they are going good? Which one is more deserving of prayer and praise? Exactly, BOTH are deserving, so no matter what state or condition that you're in right now, pray and sing praise, He is more than worthy of both.

The exchanged life

This was too good not to post; "The Christian life is not a just a "changed life" but an "exchanged life", a "substituted life", and Christ is our living substitute. We tend to think of our life as a series if changes that have happened or that we are in the process if making, but it is so much more. The life we had before Him, was brought before Him, given to Him, and to us He gave us His life. Complete and utter change by way of the exchange...pray about it, praise him for it. Amen.

"Now" Romans 15:13

"Now may the God of hope..."

The first of my focus was on the simple word "Now" and all that it implied, and implies, and will imply.  Stay with me.

Paul as it seems is encouraging those Roman Christians (and us), and he begins by stating, that this is a present state, condition, a word, and instruction for "Now".

Remember ALL scripture is God breathed and God inspired, so it is not Paul telling this of his own accord, but God speaking through him to them(and us).

With that being said, we then can see that if it is a "Now" statement, it would not be relevant to go back past, nor look forward into the future, but rather deal with the issue at hand right "Now".  So what is the issue at hand?

HOPE.

"Now may the God of hope..."

But before we get to the subject of "hope" which I believe we all need, we can not over look the sovereignty of GOD.  He is the one, the only one that "may" give us "hope", hence the statement "the God of hope".

The question then becomes, "Will He give you hope?"  I mean if He "may", will He?  The simple answer is "yes", in fact He, by the power of His spirit, because of what His son did, He gave it to us right "Now".  Hope is yours, right "Now" for the taking, if you will.

If I may be so bold, you and I, everyone is looking for "hope" but not just any "hope" will do, we want and need long lasting, sustainable "hope", and that my friends, family, is the "hope" that only Jesus Christ can and has provided...right "Now".

Of course there is a catch, (if you can call it that)
You must be His, and He must be yours.  I speak of accepting Him as Lord and savior, but also then by His spirit, growing closer to Him, and seeking Him with all your mind body and soul.

My prayer for you and I tonight is that whomever may read this, will test this, truly prayerfully consider the words I have so humbly tried to convey.  That God has quickened your spirit unto His, has enlightened your heart, that there is "an itch you can't scratch", that during this reading you have felt Him move upon your heart.  It is my deepest, most sincere hope that you go back and read this as much as possible, share it if need be, but that above all else it has drawn you closer, and the hope of Christ taken new meaning, or stronger conviction in your life, this I pray, Amen.

I will continue this at a later date, I pray it has blessed you as it has me.

A challenge to you and I

I hope this challenges you this morning to consider what you are hearing, and what you are doing. Jesus said "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock." Previously he mentions several things dealing with the internal and eternal man, and how out of the man (or woman) we would know someone, and how more specifically He would know us. Most people "hear" a sermon, but did you hear Him through that sermon? Or did you just get some candy that made you happy? Too harsh? The next point He makes is "and do them" I've heard too many say the old cliche "God knows my heart" your right! And it's by what you hear and do from your heart that He knows you. We can't afford anymore to be superficial (carnal) Christians (which I don't believe is possible or even biblical) rather we should hear and do. If you are not hearing how can you possibly do (His will)? And if you are hearing, are you doing His will? My final point, it does not say "heard". We should be in the constant present state, positionally, relationally hearing. Yes go on what you know, but continue to hear and do. I know this was long, but after much prayer an study I felt it time for myself to be more bold, for our good and His glory. I pray that you have a great day.

It's never too late

"Lord", do you and I really treat Him as such?! I pray we would. But do we defer to Him when it comes to our daily lives? Should we buy this or that? Should we watch this or that? Or turn it off?! Should we update your status, or give god glory and thanks? Notice I am not condemning any of those, but I believe that is how and when scripture comes so alive when Paul tells us to pray without ceasing. We can and should be going to Him in prayer constantly...and honestly if we are Christians as we all claim to be than it is an ongoing dialogue with God anyways. (honestly those previous questions should only take a moment of your time.) again I am not condemning but calling us all back to godliness, holiness, and righteousness. Let us pray. And as the old saying goes; "It's never too late to start." *but someday it will be if you never do.

Last impressions

A realization I've come to is that if I post a strictly biblical passages there are only a few "likes", if any. While on the other hand, if I post just a "feel good" quote, there are upwards of 10-15 "likes". More interesting still is that if I post a "hardship/sad" quote I can have upwards of 15-20 "likes". After much prayer this is what I believe is true; the bible unless explained to some is very hard to relate to, but leaves the longest lasting impact. The "feel good" quotes are easily relatable, but make little to no lasting impact. Thirdly, the "sad" quotes, hit the hardest and the broadest, but lay somewhere in between I'm their lasting impression. What we fail to see is that in all 3 types of posts God and His word are the foundation and only hope of redemption, relief, and revelation. Get in the word and study, pray, fellowship with other brothers and sisters, and finally praise Him for His goodness and faithfulness in all your situations. Whether biblical truths discovered or revealed, in encouragement, or in your deepest of sorrows, His word stays the same, his word remains true. I encourage you to read 2 Timothy 1:7

Live out loud

I would pray that every post would penetrate to every heart. I know that it is only the Word that can do that, so I share the Word, and then do my best to live it out loud. Why would I post that? To let you and I know that there is power in His Word, and as I have stated before, it takes only one Word from God to change your life...for your good, and His glory! Do not be discouraged, or downhearted if you have sinned(missed the mark) but rather repent, give thanks, praise His name and go forth...be encouraged, this is a call back to righteousness, godliness and holiness. Amen.

Praying amiss?

Have you and I been praying amiss? Have we pondered Gods will before, during and after we pray? Do we pray according to our will, what we want, or Gods will? His will be done, and with it are His blessings. While our will being done only brings struggle to try to maintain. Lord help us pray and live according to your will, it is in your will we are blessed.

What did He tell you to do?

One of the hardest things about being a Christian is reading the bible and knowing at Any moment The Lord may (usually, more often then not) points to an area in my life where I have not let him in, and that I know he is only addressing it because he loves me. Do I trust and believe him? Yes...lord help me humbly submit...I know it's for your glory and my good

Hope

Even when things look bleak, when they seem shattered and broken, God gives us hope, hope in His son, and hope for tomorrow. It is through constant prayer, praise and patience that we cultivate the relationship that brings strength to this hope.

Spend time with Him tonight

What else can I say on a night like tonight? I am not speaking of Halloween and all the assumptions and opinions (some even facts) about tonight, but rather the splendor of the beauty of the night. I know that although tomorrow is not promised to me, that tonight, being with my family, I honored God just by lovingly spending time with them. I do love them, and I do tell them, but above all that...
tonight i showed them by being with them. Is being in the presence of God any different? It shouldn't be. Spend time with Him tonight, give Him thanks for another day, praise Him despite your circumstances if you must, but show Him you truly love Him, don't just give Him "lip service". We have all been on the receiving side of that...don't be that child to Him, to your Father. Go to Him in praise and worship, through prayer, spend time with him and then rest comfortably in His loving arms.

Know Him

I don't want you to get to know good habits or kind words, no, I want you to get to know Him, and if you already do know Him, I want you know Him more! That's where I am at, and it is a beautiful relationship in which I am solely dependent on Him alone, and in Him there is no fear. I thank Him everyday for every blessing I have...especially my wife, love you.

Words from the heart

Continuing from this mornings quote, so much has been made of words, the spoken word, I feel it my obligation to better explain "words" and their power. First I don't not believe it is biblically true that your words create your destiny, you won't find that anywhere in scripture. What you will find is that words come from your heart, and tell if your hearts condition. Some "test" this by making flippant remarks, trying to disprove this notion, but alas one quick word in jest does not disprove that what constantly comes out of ones mouth tells of said condition. So what then, should we not speak? No, we are to speak the truth in love. So before you and I do chose to fill the silence with what we feel is important, prayerfully consider "is this that I am about to say the truth in love, would god be honored and pleased with my speech?" I pray as I allow God to become more in my life that I echo His words more and more, and you the same.

Sticks and stones

Contrary to popular belief sticks and stones will break your bones and words can always hurt you. But words can also inspire, reassure, and bring comfort. Think of those who have spoken both good and bad words into your life, what have they done to you? Now consider your words...

Be an example

I am only trying to be a good example of Gods goodness, grace, peace, love and mercy, a Christian. It is in this likeness that I find my very being, my strength, comfort and support to carry out Gods will. Weak I may be in all things, in Him I am stronger than any and every circumstance. I pray for the northeast, I praise His name, and I give thanks in all circumstances, not for them, but despite them. Let us all join together as one family and offer our prayers of peace during this current storm. Yes I am speaking of "Sandy", but also life's storms that you may be now enduring. Keep your hope in Him. He loves you.

Tell them and show them you love them

Those whom you love, have you told them? Your wife? Your children? God? Then the question is have you shown them? The best feeling is when you tell someone that you love them, and they reply "I know, you always show me, there has never been a doubt". Now go back and look at those people that you tell "I love you" to, what is their reply? I pray if it is not reassuring that you allow God to move upon your heart and theirs. Pray.

I will praise Him, no matter what!

If I were to post that I've been sick all weekend, it would be the truth physically. Yet spiritually I have been more active and alive then ever before. Despite my current circumstances, I can, and have, and will continue to praise The Lord. I have been posting to "stay strong, and hold on, God is good", I feel as though I need to revise it to say; let God "stay strong" in you, and your flesh weak. "Hold on" to His word which is truth, and let go of what you know in the natural. "God is good" because that is all He can be. I pray that makes sense, if not, think about it, pray about it, study the book of Romans and see the glaring difference between flesh and spirit, then praise Him just as I am, as we all should.

The "gift" or the "gift giver"?

I spent time this morning praying and looking for a passage of scripture, a biblical quote, something, anything that would inspire and lead others to the feet of Christ, and it was in this searching that The Lord so gently reminded me, if I am not seeking Him, if I am only seeking something from Him, I have missed "it". That hit me hard. He wants you and I to desire Him, hold on to Him, not just...
His "gifts". "Don't love gift, but love the gift giver". If you were to ask me "are you saying that we shouldn't ask, pray, believe or receive gifts from Him then?" Of course not! My question for myself and others, are simply; "Are you searching for more of Him, or the gifts from Him?" "Do you want the gifts, and just some of Him?" "What is it that your heart truly longs for?". That is why it has taken me this long to update this morning, I had to pray, ask forgiveness, to chose to seek Him and love Him above all else...even if I don't find the perfect quote or scripture for what you are going through. I want you to find Him, then the scripture will be there. I hope and pray that this does help you, but in such a way that you are drawn closer to Him, not just what He can do...that's loving God.

"It is finished"

"It is finished" in those three words a child of God, you and I, place all of our hope. The law fulfilled, His love completely revealed. Pray, ponder, and praise for what these three words truly mean to the believer.

One word

One word, just word from God will change your life. Problem is, He has already said it, and people don't want to hear it. Lets pray for them, pray with them, show them how to pray and believe. One word changed our lives, gave us hope, love, peace, joy...just one word. Maybe you've forgotten, today be reminded...one word.

Why are we here? (Thank you )

Just needed to clear the air about my post last night. First I am not depressed or anything of the sort. Second I do my best to relay and relate to what others may be feeling. Third to encourage myself and others to realize that we are not alone. We are in this world together as family, meant to love, encourage, discipline, rebuke, show mercy and grace, and also receive mercy and grace. So to t...
hose that posted sweet replies, thank you, I did need the encouragement. To those of you that may have read and wondered, there's my explanation, I hope it helps. We have so little time, and yet I, probably like you ind yourself doing so many things outside of what we actually know God has called us to do. Loving your family, praying more, complaining less(none), praising an thanking God more for what we have, listening more, talking less...allow God to change you, rearrange your attitudes, comfort and establish you in His truth, and as always, hold on, stay strong, God is good.

Precious Time

David Brainerd said "Oh, how precious is time, and how it pains me to see it slide away, while I do so little to any good purpose." This is how I feel at times, posting on Facebook, sharing the Gospel and what God has done in and for me, and my family. It's as though at times my work is of little value. Oh evil, the ever present liar and accuser of brethren...If your heart has been changed, th...
en your walk with God is of the utmost importance, don't ever think or believe otherwise. Keeping growing and going with God, and call the liar, a liar, because that is all he is, and all he can do. Good is still good, faith and works are linked, but it is all because of grace that you and I can live, love and give God the glory. Time is precious, it is God given, honor him with it, and find comfort and rest in Him, not in your works. Be encouraged. Hold on, stay strong, god is good.

Encourage others

We are told to encourage others, bottom line. Why wouldn't you is the first thought that entered my mind? Encouraging others does three things biblically I believe; first and most obvious it lifts up those that are down. Second it reminds you of Gods goodness in your own past, and thus adds once again to your current position. Finally it honors and glorifies Him, you trust in Him, prove your fai...
th, believe His word and are now a walking talking testimony. So if you have an opportunity(which you will) share what God has done for you, encourage them and see if the other benefits I've said don't also happen. Bonus: encourage yourself, remind yourself daily, hourly, minutely of Gods past goodness and grace toward you...it's a great way to start your day too.

Hope in God

As a Christian I place all of my hope in God. I choose, or rather consider, to look at my life and my various sufferings as so small when I put them in Gods light of Glory. I hope that makes sense? Listen, the bible never says life is going to be perfect or that we won't have issues that arise; by our own accord, because of the fallen world, or simply because God is showing us something that needs to be fixed by drawing closer to Him(discipline/training us) In any case, you choose how to view it. If you are a child of God you have the distinct honor and privilege to look at and towards Gods glory promised (actually better than promised) by his word. This is what I spoke on tonight at our bible study. I pray you take it, test it, try it and apply it, and if it is true(I believe it is) then share it with others.

As taken and read from Romans 8:18

Spirit Vs. Flesh

I've been reading through the book of Romans, studying actually, and it's amazing the absolute certainty dividing the fleshly nature and the spiritual, regenerated heart nature. To clearly see where you are personally in regards to your relationship with/to God. Long story longer, where are you with your relationship with God? Close? Grower closer? Far away wondering if you can and should go back? Or rebelliously turned away, heart harden...where ever, what ever, He is still there, still waiting...I pray you grow closer...I sincerely hope you do. I'm praying for you, let me know if there is anything I can do to help you along or your journey. Please pray for me, I always accept donations in heavenly currency:)

When God doesn't feel like He's there

Even when God feels distant, he is still here. By His own word to I hold fast to that truth, because you like I sometimes feel that way. What do you do then? You pray, study and continue to praise , more so not for the feeling of his absence, but for the abundant blessing he has already provided. Don't give up, don't give in, hold on, stay strong, God is good.

Debate comment-PRAY

Since most will be watching the last debate tonight I thought I would update my status early. Up until this point I have remained quiet about politics, and in all honesty I only have one thing to say. Pray. Contrary to what people say or think the bible does speak of politics, both in Old Testament and New Testament. Pray. No matter who is elected, is not God still God over all? I am not say...
ing that who you pick is irrelevant, more importantly it is crucial that you go to God and seek his will for whom, it is the utmost importance to yours and His relationship. He can and does move on the hearts of men and kings(presidents) alike. Pray.

I want to end with this, not an attack, but a call to righteousness. How do you know Gods word? Not by reading, but by studying and prayer. I hope this encourages you and brings you comfort, but above all else draws you closer to Him.

Do you want to believe?

"23 They only were hearing it said, "He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy." 24 And they glorified God because of me."

I have never actually tried to destroy the faith, but I have done countless things in the past that were...well pretty awful. And yet here Paul is writing the Galatians and makes no mistake about his past (it being much worse by his own admission) and now people are seeing the change God has made and are giving God the glory. Have you tried to destroy the faith? Maybe you have argued adamantly against it, maybe you still question it, maybe you even want to believe but are held back by what you have done. Let Paul, inspired by God to write this letter be an example. When you turn to God and give your life to him, the previously mentioned things are covered by his grace, the reason His son died for you, the enmity against God forgiven, His spirit will bear witness of the Truth, and questions will be answered. The end result, you'll be free, have a testimony, and others will give God the glory. Go to God, pray, wherever you are at in your life right now, pray.

Common misconception

It almost amazes me the misconception that has apparently been presented to some. But I found a very relevant quote that I pray helps you as it does me. "The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, 'O God, forgive me,' or 'Help me.'"

While in this world there will be "struggles and troubles",...
I have never painted it any other way, nor has God, BUT through His son we have hope. I have a hope unshakeable, a peace indescribable, and a love that comforts, corrects and draws me closer. I do not idolize any man or possession, I only allow what God has done to them or through them to inspire me closer to Him and his Son by his Spirit, and I pray you do the same. Be encouraged, stay strong, hold on, God is still in control.

Loving your spouse

My wife. God has entrusted me with another persons welfare, and not only that somehow I convinced her that I could do it.(thank God she trusted in Him knowing that I am a work in progress and that he is constantly helping me) Men we can not do it, at least not by our own strength and intelligence. This is not a knock on men, but a man of God knows this, and in this knowledge strives all the mor...
e to trust and hope in Gods word that He will honor his word which we should so desperately cling to. By doing doing just that my wife CAN believe that I will do my very best for her(even when I mess up) because she has that same assurance in God, in me, for me, in her, and for her, all for the glory of God. Men we have a great responsibility, believe and trust in God and do his will, women like wise, and even to the unmarried the same is true. One is not better than the other, and all should be giving glory to God...but in my case and possibly yours, you have a cherished and honored blessing, treat it as such, love one another as they need to be loved. I love my wife, and more importantly she knows it. Even more important than that she knows that because I love God and am growing in Him, so I can and will only love her more and more, better and better, amen.

Secret to happiness, His perspective

Paul says one o the secrets if happiness is being content, I like to look at it this way; "Content makes poor men rich; discontent makes rich men poor."
- Benjamin Franklin

Sadly you won't find historically that he was a Christian, but Ironically his quote is biblical truth, thus Christ like in nature. Think about it, pray about it, test it, are you content, or discontent? Why? If you're lacking in an area, why? I submit that you don't have a godly perspective on that area.
Pray for his perspective, for satisfaction in him, and watch contentment be there.

Examples usually talk about money, and how if you have 100 dollars you're richer than 90% of the rest of the world. But what about looks? Are you content there? do you take your opinion about them, or Gods? Whatever it may be, have you looked at it from His perspective? I pray today you stop and look, pray for strength...pray

You can tell a lot about a person

You can tell a lot about a person by what they pray for. Moreover you can tell more about a person IF they pray. The person that prays acknowledges they can not accomplish anything fully by their own strength, and accordingly live by the Spirit trusting in Gods goodness. While the person that refuses or doesn't pray spends all their time and energy trying to get which can only be given by grace...
unwilling to humble themselves only getting what will soon perish. I speak of higher things though, spiritual blessings, Godly fruits of which only God can give. These are the fruits of His spirit found in Galatians 5:22, the things which no man can steal, no devil can destroy. Let us pray by seeking His face at His feet. Be encouraged, stay strong, hold on, God is good.

Straight and narrow

The Christian life is found on the straight and narrow road, but that does not mean it is a lonely road. In fact I would like to think and do believe that the smaller the road, the closer the company, the truer the friend. You're not alone, you have those that do love you and are encouraging you on your journey which is life. I pray you are on the straight and narrow, going and growing in Him.

Blood sweat tears and prayers

Blood sweat tears and prayers I humbly ask in my closet that those struggling with sin, pain, hurt, regret would give it ALL to God. He is the ultimate comforter in your time of need, the problem is though that rarely do we go to Him first. Rarely are we so grounded an rooted in His words that any storm shakes our foundation and we are left rebuilding...friends, family, build your relationship with Him, strengthen your foundation and in doing so watch the storms come and go and you stand strong! Not only that you'll be able to help others in word and deed, people will come to you and you'll be able to point the way, give them the ultimate blue print...pray, study, read grow and share with others.

Living life

How many out there are living life, and how many are just trying to stay alive. Take it any way it applies. That coworker who always seems down, the one that always so negative and pessimistic, or how about the wife or husband who is just trying to hold on and not lose it? This isn't even going into those of you who feel pain or sorrow about other worldly issues. But the question remains who a...
nd how can we help? The first thing I encourage and am personally doing is devoting more time for prayer, even for myself as things feel like they are closing in around me. The next is share with those in need, whether a kind word or nice deed...this is not just a feel good message this morning, but a call back to righteousness...back to pointing people back to God and His love, back to His life, and love for us in Him.
